Connecting to your stereo

• Android stereo: plugs straight in.
• Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC, Alpine: the plug needs changing. Cut the plug off our harness and off a 3.5 mm patch lead, join black to black, join the other two wires (colours don't matter), then plug into the stereo. Full steps in the install guide (PDF).

Installation

Reasonably straightforward if you're mechanically minded and comfortable with vehicle wiring. Check your stereo has a steering wheel control input first. If you're not confident around clock springs and airbags, get an auto electrician to fit it.

How do I add steering wheel buttons to a 200 Series LandCruiser?

Fit a wheel with buttons, then this kit. The clock spring carries the button wiring and the Magic Harness connects it to your aftermarket stereo.

Why don't my steering wheel buttons work after fitting an aftermarket wheel?

Usually the clock spring and harness are missing. Most wheel sellers don't include them. This kit is those two parts.

Will it work with a Pioneer, Kenwood or Android stereo?

Yes. Android plugs straight in. Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC and Alpine need the plug changed and a 3.5 mm patch lead. See "Connecting to your stereo" above.

Does it work with the factory Toyota stereo?

No. It's made for aftermarket stereos.

Do I need to cut any wiring?

Not the factory wiring. The only cutting is the plug at the stereo end, and only on Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC and Alpine.

Does it fit the 2016 on 200 Series?

No. The 2016 update uses a bigger clock spring. This kit suits 2007 to 2015. Not sure which you've got? Send us a photo of your clock spring.

Do I need this if I bought one of your steering wheels?

Not if you picked the option for vehicles without steering wheel buttons. It's already included.

Can I fit it myself?
