DR1 Rooftop Electric Air Conditioner
Premium high-output cooling for trucks, campers, boats & heavy machinery
When you’re chasing serious cooling performance, the DR Series sits right at the top. With its oversized condenser, twin 300 mm high-flow fans, stainless fittings, copper/aluminium core design and a smart variable-speed inverter compressor, this unit is built to cool bunk cabins, long-haul trucks, large campers, heavy machinery, boats and off-grid setups with ease.
This is the flagship rooftop unit — big power, big reliability, built for harsh Aussie heat.
Engineered for Extreme Heat
Everything about the DR system is designed to move air and remove heat fast.
-
Large-capacity condenser
-
Twin 300 mm high-output fans
-
Copper/aluminium evaporator & condenser
-
Corrosion-resistant stainless fittings
-
Fully sealed rooftop housing
-
Bi-directional automatic swing blower
-
Quiet operation: 50–62 dB
Strong airflow, fast temperature pull-down and stable performance in demanding conditions.
Variable-Speed Inverter Compressor (Corrected Information)
The DR unit does not run at a fixed RPM. It uses a true variable-speed inverter compressor, meaning it automatically adjusts its speed depending on cooling demand.
Typical operating bands are:
-
Low: approx. 1500 RPM (holding temperature / low load)
-
Medium: approx. 3000 RPM (regular cooling)
-
High: approx. 4500 RPM (rapid cool-down on hot starts)
This variable-speed system allows:
-
Faster initial cooling
-
Lower current draw once the area is cool
-
Much quieter operation
-
Less strain on batteries
-
Longer compressor life
Power Consumption
-
12V version: 16–75A (500–800W)
-
24V version: 8–35A (200–800W)
As the temperature stabilises, the compressor automatically slows down, dramatically reducing power draw.
Battery Protection
-
Soft-start system (no large current spike)
-
Low-voltage cut-off (prevents flattening your batteries)
Smart tech designed for engine-off use and off-grid systems.
Refrigerant
The system uses R134a, which is the standard automotive refrigerant used by most cars, 4WDs, trucks and machinery in Australia.
Any licensed automotive A/C technician can gas it easily.
