Frequently asked questions

When do I need a bonded washer?
Any time a parallel thread (BSPP, metric or UNF) has to seal on a flat face. Tapered threads like NPT and BSPT seal on the thread instead.

Can I reuse a bonded washer?
They often can be, but fit a new one if the rubber lip is cut, flattened or hard.

Bonded washer or copper washer?
Bonded washers seal well with less torque and suit fittings you undo often. Copper suits sump plugs and banjo bolts.
