Connecting to your stereo

• Android stereo: plugs straight in.
• Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC, Alpine: the plug needs changing. Cut the plug off our harness and off a 3.5 mm patch lead, join black to black, join the other two wires (colours don't matter), then plug into the stereo. Full steps in the install guide (PDF).

Factory Toyota head units aren't supported.

Installation

Fit the clock spring, plug in the harnesses, finish your wheel swap. No hacking into the factory wiring. Reasonably straightforward if you're mechanically minded. If you're not confident around the airbag, use an auto electrician.

Why don't my Prado 120 steering wheel buttons work after fitting a new wheel?

Usually the clock spring or harness is wrong or missing. This kit replaces both, so the buttons work with a compatible aftermarket stereo.

Do I need a new clock spring for an aftermarket steering wheel on a Prado 120?

If your Prado didn't have steering wheel buttons, yes. This kit includes the dual-stage Prado 120 clock spring.

Will cruise control work on my Prado 120 with an aftermarket wheel?

Yes, when installed correctly. The cruise harness is in the kit.

Why is my airbag light on after changing the steering wheel?

Often it's the wrong clock spring or a plug not connected. The correct clock spring in this kit sorts most of these. Disconnect the battery before you touch the airbag.

Will it work with a Pioneer, Kenwood or Android stereo?

Yes. Android plugs straight in. Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC and Alpine need the plug changed and a 3.5 mm patch lead. See "Connecting to your stereo" above.

Does it work with the factory Toyota stereo?

No. It's for aftermarket stereos with a steering wheel control input.
