When the internal spring and bushing wear out you get a door that clunks through its travel, won't stay open, or drops onto your leg on an incline. It's a cheap part that makes the truck feel twenty years younger.

Note: Aftermarket replacement, not a genuine Toyota part. Toyota changed the checker between 2001 and 2003 – make sure you select the right year range as well as the right corner. Sold individually.
