Clock spring and Magic Harness kit for the 2023+ LandCruiser 70 Series GX and Workmate. The parts you need to make steering wheel buttons and cruise control work after a wheel upgrade.
The problem this solves
Plenty of 2023+ GX and Workmate owners fit a steering wheel with buttons, turn the key, and find nothing works.
The factory clock spring in those trims doesn't have the plug setup for steering wheel buttons or cruise control. And some sellers supply older pre-2023 clock springs without the correct SAS setup. Fit one of those and you'll get traction control or stability control warning lights on the dash.
This kit is the correct 2023+ clock spring with SAS, plus the Magic Harness for compatible aftermarket stereos.

Yes, if all of these apply:
- You have a 2023+ GX or Workmate
- Your vehicle doesn't already have steering wheel buttons
- You're fitting a wheel with buttons
- You're running a compatible aftermarket stereo
- You're not already buying the 2023+ Workmate/GX steering wheel option, which includes this
GXL owners
You usually don't need this. GXL already has the correct factory plug setup.
Already buying a steering wheel kit?
If you selected the 2023+ Facelift Workmate / GX Model option on our steering wheel, this is already included. Don't buy it twice.
Connecting to your stereo
- Android stereo: plugs straight in.
- Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC, Alpine: the plug needs changing. Cut the plug off our harness and off a 3.5 mm patch lead, join black to black, join the other two wires (colours don't matter), then plug into the stereo. Full steps in the install guide (PDF).
Not designed for factory Toyota head units.

Frequently asked questions
How do I get steering wheel buttons working on a 2023 70 Series GX or Workmate?
Fit a wheel with buttons, then this kit. The GX and Workmate clock spring can't carry button signals, so it has to be swapped for the 2023+ clock spring in this kit.
Why do I get a traction control light after fitting a new clock spring to my 2023 70 Series?
Usually because it's a pre-2023 clock spring without the SAS sensor. 2023+ models need the updated one, which is what this kit includes.
Do GXL models need this?
Usually not. Most GXL models already have the correct factory plug and wiring.
Will it work with a Pioneer, Kenwood or Android stereo?
Yes. Android plugs straight in. Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC and Alpine need the plug changed and a 3.5 mm patch lead. See "Connecting to your stereo" above.
Does it work with the factory Toyota head unit?
No. This kit is for aftermarket stereos with a steering wheel control input.
Will cruise control work on the wheel?
Yes, when installed correctly as part of a steering wheel upgrade.
Do I need it if I already bought a steering wheel kit?
No, if you selected the 2023+ Workmate/GX option. It's already included.
What does the Magic Harness do?
It connects the steering wheel button wiring to your aftermarket stereo so the controls work.
Do I need to cut any wires?
Not the factory wiring. The only cutting is the plug at the stereo end, and only on Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC and Alpine.
