FAQs
Can I weld this to an aluminium tank?
No. Stainless bungs are for steel and stainless tanks and sumps. For alloy tanks use our aluminium weld-on bungs.
What size bung do I need for a fuel tank?
Most street EFI setups run AN6 or AN8 feed and AN6 return. High-power or E85 builds often go AN8 or AN10 feed. Breathers are usually AN6 to AN10.
Do I need to back purge when welding stainless?
Back purging with argon gives the cleanest weld on stainless. Take care not to overheat the flare seat, which should stay clean and undamaged.
