How do I get the old centre vent out?
Wrap a thin flat blade in tape, slip it in at the edge of the vent and gently lever the side clip. Take your time, the dash plastic is getting old and brittle by now.

Will these fit the side vents too?
No, these are the centre dash outlets only. The side vents are a different shape.

Are they the same colour as my dash?
They are black, which suits most Surf dashes. A grey interior will show a slight contrast.
