Build your own 12V setup properly — crimps that don’t loosen up on corrugations
If you’re wiring up a dual battery, running power for a fridge, LED lighting, compressor, inverter, fuse block, or just cleaning up a messy engine-bay loom, this kit is a solid bang-for-buck way to do it at home. You get the hex terminal crimper, a stack of copper ring terminals, plus 3:1 heat shrink to seal it all up neat.
What’s in the kit
-
1x Hex terminal crimping pliers with rotating dies
-
60x Copper ring terminals (sizes: AWG 10 / 8 / 6 / 4)
-
80x 3:1 heat shrink tubes (to suit the terminals)
Why you’ll like it
-
Rotating crimp dies – quick to switch sizes, locks in place with a spring-loaded pin
-
Hex crimp finish – tight, even crimp that holds better than a cheap “squash” crimp
-
Built for real cable – suited to the thicker stuff used in 12V touring installs
-
Heat shrink included – makes the job look tidy and helps protect against corrosion
-
Built-in cable cutter – handy for trimming copper/aluminium cable during installs (capacity as listed)
Crimp sizes (tool dies)
-
6 / 10 / 16 / 25 / 35 / 50mm²
-
Equivalent listed: AWG 8 / 6 / 4 / 2 / 1/0
Where it gets used (utes/4x4s/campers)
-
Dual battery cabling & accessory feeds
-
Fuse blocks, distribution, earth upgrades
-
Fridge circuits, lights, compressors, chargers
-
General 12V tidy-ups when you want it done once and done right
Tips for a mint result
-
Match the terminal size to the cable size (don’t force it)
-
Crimp firmly, then finish with heat shrink
-
Any high-current run should still be fused correctly near the battery
