Prado Steering Wheel – Built to Order, Fits 120 Series and 150 Series
A custom steering wheel for the Toyota Prado 120 and 150 Series that bolts straight on, keeps your factory airbag, and adds steering wheel buttons and cruise on the wheel – even on a 120 that never had them. Premium leather, real carbon fibre or piano black, with your choice of stitching and wheel shape. Not a hydro-dipped copy.
When you order – this one matters on the Prado: put your exact year and model (e.g. "2007 Prado 120 GXL" or "2016 Prado 150 VX") in the order notes box at checkout. The 120 and 150 use different wiring and we build to suit yours.
Why buy it from us
Half the clock springs and harnesses we sell go to people who bought a cheaper wheel on eBay, Alibaba or Facebook and found it turned up without the wiring to make the buttons work. We're the Toyota steering wheel specialists – we've fitted these, we stock the Prado clock spring and harness kits, and if you buy the wheel here the right parts are in the box the first time. You get what you pay for.
Will it fit my Prado?
| Model | Years | Fits | Order this option |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prado 150 Series – GX, GXL, VX, Kakadu | 2009–2023 | Yes | "Already with steering wheel buttons" – every 150 came with them |
| Prado 120 Series with factory buttons (most Grande, some GXL) | 2003–2009 | Yes | "Already with steering wheel buttons" |
| Prado 120 Series without buttons (most GX and GXL) | 2003–2009 | Yes | "Without steering wheel buttons" – includes clock spring and Magic Harness |
| Prado 90 Series | 1996–2002 | Wheel bolts on | Buttons won't work – buy it for the look only |
| Prado 250 Series | 2024 on | No | Contact us |
Your factory airbag transfers across. Nothing is cut or modified.
Will the buttons work with my stereo?
| Stereo | Buttons work? | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| Factory Toyota stereo | Yes | Nothing extra if the Prado already had buttons |
| Android / CarPlay head unit | Yes | Head unit with a steering wheel control input – nearly all have one |
| Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC, Alpine | Yes | Our Plug & Play Steering Wheel Control Harness connects the clock spring to the stereo's SWC wire – no cutting |
| Basic stereo with no SWC input | No | Buttons need a stereo that can take a steering wheel input |
Buttons handle volume, track, source, mute and phone answer/hang-up. Cruise control moves from the stalk onto the wheel.
Do I need a clock spring?
Prado 120 without buttons: yes, and it's included in that option. Prado 150 and 120 with buttons: no. If you already have a wheel and just need the parts, the Prado 120 Harness & Clock Spring Kit is sold on its own – the 120 runs cruise through the main plug, so it uses a different harness to most other Toyotas.
Finishes, stitching and shape
- Premium leather – factory look, best grip in the hand
- Piano black – gloss inserts, the modern finish that's quickly become the most popular
- Real carbon fibre – genuine carbon inserts, not hydro-dipped, so it won't fade or peel. The premium option.
Stitching in black (factory look), red (sport) or grey. Choose round bottom (factory shape) or flat bottom (sport, more leg room) in the Material & Wheel Shape dropdown – same price either way. Supplied without a Toyota badge.
Installing it
About an hour for a mechanically minded owner: battery off, airbag out, centre nut, swap wheels, airbag back in. The "without buttons" kit adds the clock spring swap and plugging the Magic Harness into the stereo. Any auto electrician can do the whole job.
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my 2015 Prado 150 GXL with the factory airbag?
Yes. Every 150 Series from 2009 to 2023. Your factory airbag and buttons bolt into the new wheel.
My Prado 120 has no buttons – can I add them?
Yes. Choose the "without buttons" option. The clock spring and Magic Harness are included so the buttons and cruise work with a compatible stereo.
Do I need a clock spring for a Prado 150?
No. Every 150 has the right clock spring already. Straight swap.
Does cruise control work?
Yes. It moves from the stalk to the wheel. It won't add cruise to a vehicle that never had it.
Will it fit a Prado 90?
The wheel bolts on, but the buttons won't work. Buy it for the look and feel only.
Is it a straight bolt-on? Any cutting?
Straight bolt-on. Same spline as the factory wheel, factory airbag reused, no cutting.
Does it come with the Toyota badge?
No – supplied without a badge or emblem.
Is it genuine Toyota?
No. Premium aftermarket, built to order. Tucks Performance is not affiliated with Toyota.
How long to build and ship?
Built to order – allow about 3 weeks, then $34 flat-rate tracked freight Australia-wide. Freight only – no pick-up on wheels, as they're made to order.

I was really impressed by the quality of the steering wheel and love the feel of it when driving. My only issues was that I was supplied the kit for without existing steering wheel controls which confused things when it came time to install. Support did not respond to any direct questions and had to work it out myself.
I have ordered another one now for my 200 series and this time install will be a dream, knowing what I know now.
