Where should I weld an O2 bung?
On the exhaust after the collector, at least 30 to 50 cm from the turbo or engine, and angled at least 10 degrees above horizontal so water drains off the sensor.

Can I weld this to mild steel exhaust?
Yes, stainless weld bungs can be MIG or TIG welded to mild steel pipe.
