10-Pin to 12-Pin Steering Wheel Adapter for Hilux N70 and 79 Series

Fitting a 300 Series style or aftermarket steering wheel and the plug doesn't match? A lot of Toyotas have a 10-pin plug at the clock spring, and most new wheels have a 12-pin plug. This adapter joins the two. Plug one end into your clock spring, the other into the wheel. No cutting, no soldering.

Getting the buttons working on your stereo

This adapter connects the wheel to the clock spring. To connect the buttons to an aftermarket stereo, you'll also need our Plug & Play Steering Wheel Control Harness.

• Android stereo: plugs straight in.
• Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC, Alpine: the plug needs changing. Cut the plug off the harness and off a 3.5 mm patch lead, join black to black, join the other two wires (colours don't matter), then plug into the stereo. Full steps in the install guide (PDF).

It converts the 10-pin plug at your Toyota clock spring to the 12-pin plug used on most upgraded and 300 Series style steering wheels.

Will a 300 Series style steering wheel plug into my N70 Hilux?

Yes, with this adapter, if your Hilux has the 10-pin clock spring plug.

Will it work on my 79 Series LandCruiser?

Yes, most 79 Series use the 10-pin plug this adapter is made for.

Why don't my steering wheel buttons work after fitting a new wheel?

Usually the wiring to the stereo is missing. This adapter connects the wheel to the clock spring. You'll also need the Plug & Play harness to get the buttons talking to an aftermarket stereo, and a new clock spring if your vehicle never had buttons.

Will it work with my Pioneer, Kenwood or Android stereo?

Yes, with the Plug & Play harness. Android plugs straight in. Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC and Alpine need the plug changed and a 3.5 mm patch lead. See above.

Do I need to cut any wires?

No. The adapter plugs in at both ends.

Does it include a steering wheel?

No. This is the adapter only.
