The 70 Series is a brilliant truck with a steering wheel from another decade. This is the upgrade that fixes that – and it's the wheel we sell more of than anything else. Premium leather, real carbon fibre or piano black, steering wheel buttons and cruise on the wheel, your factory airbag kept, and it bolts straight on. Suits every airbag-equipped 70 Series from 2009 to today, including the 2023+ facelift.

Why buy it from us
Half the clock springs and harnesses we sell go to people who bought a cheaper wheel on eBay, Alibaba or Facebook and found it turned up without the wiring to make the buttons work. We're the Toyota steering wheel specialists – we've fitted these, we stock every clock spring and harness for the 70 Series, and if you buy the wheel here the right parts are in the box the first time. Airbag-equipped columns only. Your factory airbag bolts into the new wheel – nothing is cut or modified.
Which option do I order?
This is the one thing people get wrong. Pick by year and trim:

Don't buy a separate Clock Spring & Harness Kit if your option already includes it. Only buy it on its own if you've already got a wheel.
Will the buttons work with my stereo?

Buttons handle volume, track, source, mute and phone answer/hang-up. Cruise control moves off the stalk and onto the wheel.
Running a Pioneer, Kenwood, Sony, JVC or Alpine?
These stereos use a different steering wheel plug to Android units, so the harness won't plug straight in. It's a five-minute job behind the stereo:
- You'll need a 3.5 mm steering wheel patch lead to suit your stereo.
- Cut the steering wheel plug off the end of our harness and the plug off the patch lead.
- Join black to black. That's the earth.
- Join the remaining two wires together. It doesn't matter if the colours don't match.
- Plug the 3.5 mm end into the steering wheel input on the back of the stereo, then set up the buttons in the stereo's menu.

Finishes, stitching and shape
- Premium leather – factory look, comfortable all day, best grip in the hand
- Piano black – gloss inserts, the modern look that's quickly become our most popular finish
- Real carbon fibre – genuine carbon inserts, not hydro-dipped, so it won't fade or peel. The premium option.
Stitching in black (factory look), red (sport) or grey – grey is the pick if you want it to blend with the grey 70 Series interior rather than stand out. Choose round bottom (factory shape) or flat bottom (sport, more leg room) in the Material & Wheel Shape dropdown – same price either way. Supplied with a blank centre cap, no Toyota badge.
Installing it
About an hour for a mechanically minded owner: battery off, airbag out, centre nut, swap wheels, airbag back in. The pre-facelift and Workmate/GX kits add the clock spring swap and plugging the harness into the stereo. Any auto electrician can do it start to finish.

Frequently asked questions
Will this fit my 2016 VDJ79 with the factory airbag?
Yes. Every airbag-equipped 70 Series from 2009 on. The airbag bolts into the new wheel.
Is it a direct replacement for the original 79 Series wheel?
Yes. Same spline, same airbag, bolt-on. No cutting or modification.
Does the harness give me all the buttons – volume, track, phone?
Yes, with a stereo that has a steering wheel control input. Volume, track, source, mute and phone answer/hang-up.
Will it work with my Pioneer / Kenwood / Sony?
Yes, with a 3.5 mm patch lead to suit your stereo. The plug needs changing – see the Pioneer section above.
Will cruise control move to the wheel?
Yes. On Cruisers with cruise on the stalk, it moves to the wheel buttons. It won't add cruise to a vehicle that never had it.
Do I need a clock spring?
2009–2023 and 2023+ Workmate/GX: yes, and it's included in your option. 2023+ GXL: no, yours is already right.
I have a 2023+ GXL – do I need the Workmate/GX upgrade?
No. Choose the GXL option and save the difference.
Will it work with a 2023+ Workmate with the Android head unit I've already fitted?
Yes – order the Workmate/GX option so you get the upgraded clock spring, and the harness plugs into your head unit's steering wheel control input.
Does it come with the Toyota badge?
No. Supplied with a blank centre cap.
Leather or piano black?
Leather all the way round for grip and a factory feel. Piano black for gloss inserts and a modern custom look. Carbon fibre for the premium finish.
Is it genuine Toyota?
No. Premium aftermarket, built to order. Tucks Performance is not affiliated with Toyota.
How long to build and ship?
Built to order – allow about 3 weeks. Every wheel is inspected and the wiring confirmed here before dispatch. $34 flat-rate tracked freight Australia-wide. Freight only – no pick-up on wheels, as they're made to order.

12-month replacement warranty on materials and workmanship.
